Abdominal Hernia

Abdominal Hernia: Introduction

Occurs when an abdominal organ or fatty tissue protrudes through a weakened area of the abdominal wall which results in a protrusion. The weakening of the abdominal wall can result from a number of causes and the seriousness of the conditions depends on what the protruding tissue is and how tightly it is held there.
