Glossary for Acoustic neuroma

Bell's Palsy: A usually temporary facial nerve disorder where a part or all of the face becomes suddenly paralysed.
Cancer: Abnormal overgrowth of body cells.
Deafness: Inability to hear sounds.
Dizziness: Feelings of lightheadedness or giddiness.

Headache: In medicine a headache or cephalalgia is a symptom of a number of different conditions of the head and sometimes neck. Some of the causes are benign while others are medical emergencies. It ranks among the most common pain complaints

Neurofibromatosis syndrome Type II: A rare genetic disorder characterized by areas of increased and decreased skin pigmentation, acoustic neuromas and the development of many noncancerous nerve and skin tumors some of which may eventually become malignant - it is a more severe form of type I neurofibromatosis.
Neurofibromatosis type 3A: A rare genetic disorder characterized by areas of increased and decreased skin pigmentation and the development of many non-cancerous nerve and skin tumors some of which may eventually become malignant. The skin tumors tend to develop characteristically on the palms of the hands.
Neurofibromatosis-2: Genetic disorder often leading to tumors on nerves.
Neuroma: Tumor from nerve cells (usually benign)
Nystagmus: Involuntary jerky eye movements
Sensorineural hearing loss: Hearing loss due to abnormal functioning or damage to the hearing nerve or the cochlea (inner ear) or the part of the brain that processes sound. The hearing problem may be present at birth or may be acquired through such things as aging, excessive noise or diseases such as meningitis.
Tinnitus: Hearing noises in the ears: ringing, roaring, clicks, whistling, or hissing.
Tunglang-Savage-Bellman syndrome: A very rare syndrome characterized mainly by hearing loss and abnormal salivary gland function.
