Alcoholic liver disease



Introduction: Alcoholic liver disease

Prolonged alcohol abuse can cause damage to the liver leading to cirrhosis of the liver (and various other complications). Liver disease specifically caused by alcohol is called "alcoholic liver disease" to distinguish it from other causes of liver disease or liver cirrhosis.
