  • Abdominal mass: Abdominal swelling with hard mass felt
  • Alveolar echinococcosis: A rare parasitic infection caused by the larva of a miniscule tapeworm called Echinococcus multilocularis. Transmission occurs through contact with foxes, coyotes, dogs and cats. The condition results in the development of parasitic tumors in the liver (sometimes other organs such as brain and lungs) but it generally causes no symptom for 5 to 15 years after infection.
  • Anaphylaxis: A rare, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction.
  • Ascites: Fluid accumulation in abdominal cavity
  • Brain conditions: Medical conditions that affect the brain
  • Brain symptoms: Symptoms affecting the brain
  • Chest pain: Pain in the chest area.
  • Cholangitis: bile duct inflammation (cholangitis)
  • Cirrhosis of the liver: Scarring of the liver from alcohol or other causes.
  • Clonorchiasis: Infection with the Chinese liver fluke called Clonchorchis sinensis. Infection usually results from ingesting contaminated fish and crayfish. The infection primarily affects the liver as the flukes tend to occupy the biliary ducts of the liver. Recurring infections can cause more severe symptoms. Infection with this fluke is endemic in Asia but can occur occasionally in countries such as the US though the source of contamination is food from Asia.
  • Cough: The noise produced from the sudden expulsion of air from the lungs
  • Cysticercosis: An infectious disease caused by the pork tapeworm Taenia solium. If the larvae are ingested then a mild or asymptomatic tapeworm infection occurs. However, ingested eggs pass into the bloodstream where they can then enter various tissues and form the cysts that characterize cysticercosis.
  • Cysts: Lump produced by over-secreting gland
  • Death: The cessation of life
  • Diseases contagious from animals: Diseases that can be contracted from animals
  • Diseases contagious from cats: Diseases that can be contracted from cats
  • Diseases contagious from dogs: Diseases that can be contracted from dogs
  • Diseases contagious from food: Diseases that can be contracted from food
  • Echinococcus granulosus: A infection caused by a type of small tapeworm
  • Eosinophilia: This is when there is an abnormal increase in the eosinophils in the blood
  • Fascioliasis: A rare parastitic infectious disease caused by liver fluke Fasciola hepatica which can cause blockage of the bile ducts in the liver.
  • Hydrocephalus: A rare condition where the normal flow of cerebrospinal fluid is impaired by dilated brain ventricles which causes the fluid to accumulate in the skull and hence result in increased brain pressure.
  • Kidney conditions: Any condition affecting the kidney organs.
  • Liver cancer: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a primary malignancy of the liver.
  • Liver conditions: Any condition that affects the liver
  • Liver symptoms: Symptoms affecting the liver
  • Lung abscess: Pus (abscess) in the lung
  • Lung symptoms: Symptoms affecting one or both lungs.
  • Myocarditis: Inflammation of the myocardium (muscle walls of the heart)
  • Myositis: One of the underlying causes for muscle weakness/myopathy.
  • No symptoms: The absence of noticable symptoms.
  • Pericarditis: Inflammation of the membrane surrounding the heart
  • Tapeworms: Parasitic worm infestation of digestive or other organs.
