Aortic dissection

Aortic dissection: Introduction

A potentially life-threatening condition where an opening in the inner lining of the aorta allows blood to flow into the wall of the aorta. The pressure of the blood in the wall can cause the opening in the lining to increase. An aortic dissection can cause sever pain and needs immediate medical attention.
