Introduction: Barmah Forest virus

A virus that is carried by mosquitoes and can be transmitted to humans. The virus cannot be passed on directly from one person to another. Mosquitoes contract the virus by feeding from infected marsupials or humans. The virus only occurs in Australia and is more common in the northern parts of Australia.
