Morton's neuroma often missed: Morton’s interdigital neuroma is the most often misdiagnosed condition of the forefoot. It is not a true neuroma but a fibrous enlargement of an interdigital nerve. The patient complains severe burning pain between the third and fourth roes which gets worse on weight bearing and is relieved on taking off the shoe and squeezing the foot The diagnosis is made on clinical grounds keeping in mind to rule out other conditions such as stress fracture, tendon sheath ganglion, bursitis and a foreign body reaction.
