Any condition or disorder affecting the colon. The colon is the final stage of the digestive tract and ends at the rectum. The colon is where the final extraction of excess water from the feces occurs. The colon may be affected by conditions such as colitis, colon cancer, constipation, irritable bowel syndrome and many others.
