Glossary for Cornea disorders

  • Astigmatism: Vision impairment from irregularly shaped eye cornea or lens.
  • Blurred vision: Blurriness of vision or images.
  • Corneal Dystrophies: A group of various disorders affecting the eye's cornea
  • Corneal abrasion: Scratch on the cornea
  • Corneal flash burns: Corneal injury from bright lights
  • Corneal ulcer: Sore on the eye's cornea
  • Eye foreign body: Feeling of grit or sand in the eye
  • Fuchs' Dystrophy: Cataract-like vision problems from corneal deposits.
  • Headache: In medicine a headache or cephalalgia is a symptom of a number of different conditions of the head and sometimes neck. Some of the causes are benign while others are medical emergencies. It ranks among the most common pain complaints
  • Hyphema: Bleeding between cornea and iris in the eye
  • Iridocorneal Endothelial Syndrome: ICE syndrome is a spectrum of conditions of the eye, where the inner layer of the cornea appears abnormal. It includes Cogan-Reese syndrome, Chandler's syndrome, and progressive iris atrophy.
  • Keratitis: Any inflammation of the cornea of the eye
  • Keratoconus: A rare degenerative eye disorder where the corneas of the eye become progressively thinner and cone-shaped which affects vision.
  • Keratomalacia: A rare eye disease that results from a deficiency of vitamin A.
  • Lattice dystrophy: Cloudiness of the cornea
  • Map-dot-fingerprint dystrophy.: Eye cornea condition
  • Ocular Herpes: Viral infection of the eye from herpes virus.
  • Photophobia: An exaggerated or irrational fear of light.
  • Pterygium: Pink growth on the eye's cornea
  • Red eye: Redness of the eyes
  • Stevens-Johnson Syndrome: A rare but serious condition involving inflammation and blistering of the skin and mucous membranes. It is believed to be an allergic reaction that can occur in response to some drugs or infectious diseases.
  • Trachoma: Chronic bacterial eye condition in the developing world
