Cancer: Diseases from tumor overgrowth of body cells
Introduction: Cancer is a well-known condition that is one of the top ten cause of death. There are more than 100 types of cancer. Note that leukemia, lymphoma, melanoma, and myeloma are all types of cancer. The underlying cause is body cells that reproduce without control, leading either to a solid tumor (e.g. breast cancer, colorectal cancer, lung cancer, etc.), or to an over-proliferation of cells in the blood (e.g. leukemia). The exact early cause or trigger of the cancerous cell growth remains unclear and under continuous research, and in some cases controversial.
