Genetic-repeating

Genetic-repeating: Genetic diseases caused by a gene with an expanding repeating sequence

Introduction: These disorders are unusual genetic disorders that arise when one gene has a special type of mutation: a sequence of 3 base pairs within the gene is repeated many times. The level of disease usually depends on how many repeats are in the bad gene sequence. An unusual pattern of inheritance is typical, where descendents who are affected (not all are), get the disease worse than a parent who was affected.
