Diabetes Insipidus
Introduction: Diabetes Insipidus
Diabetes insipidous is a metabolic disorder involving the pituitary gland and the kidneys. Although it shares the name, diabetes insipidous is not a subtype nor in any way related to the more common sugar diabetes (diabetes mellitus).
Symptoms of Diabetes Insipidus
- Excessive urination - often clearer than normal.
- Clear urine
- Frequent urination
- Night urination
- Bedwetting - in children

Metabolic disorder due to injury of the neurohypophyseal system; results in deficient quanity of antidiuretic hormone being released or produced, failure of tubular reabsorption of water in the kidney. - (Source - Diseases Database)
