Glossary for Difficult to diagnose conditions

  • Infant conditions: Any condition that affects an infant
  • Lymphoma: Cancer involving lymph nodes and the immune system.
  • Melanoma: Melanoma is the most dangerous type of skin cancer. It is the leading cause of death from skin disease. It involves cells called melanocytes, which produce a skin pigment called melanin. Melanin is responsible for skin and hair color.
  • Over-diagnosed conditions: Any condition that is diagnosed to excess even though the patient may not have the condition
  • Silent conditions: Any condition that is not visible clinically
  • Under-diagnosed conditions: Any medical condition that is undiagnosed
