Double-dominance is the rare condition where a person has not just one copy of a dominant gene, but actually two copies of the dominant gene, one on each chromosome. The resulting condition is usually more serious than the ordinary dominant genetic disease that would arise if only one gene copy was mutated. Most dominant genetic diseases can have double dominant subtypes, but they are much rarer than single-dominance.
