Abnormalities in blood lipid levels or other abnormalities in the blood lipids themselves. Dyslipidemia conditions include hyperlipidemia where there is an excess of lipids in the blood or hypolipoproetinaemia where there is a malfunction in the metabolism of lipoproteins resulting in low levels of lipids in the blood.
