Glossary for Ebola

  • Diarrhea: Loose or watery stool.
  • Ebola: Dangerous virus mostly found in Africa.
  • Fatigue: Excessive tiredness or weakness.
  • Filovirus: A group of viruses that includes Marburg and Ebola
  • Headache: In medicine a headache or cephalalgia is a symptom of a number of different conditions of the head and sometimes neck. Some of the causes are benign while others are medical emergencies. It ranks among the most common pain complaints
  • Hiccups: Noise and diaphragm muscle contractions (properly called "hiccoughs")
  • High fever: Where a patient has an elevated temperature
  • Marburg virus: Serious virus related to Ebola.
  • Muscle aches: Aches affecting one or more muscles
  • Sore throat: Discomfort in the throat or with swallowing
  • Stomach pain: The occurrence of pain located in the stomach
  • Viral Hemorrhagic Fevers: Viral infections causing hemorrhagic fever (i.e. bleeding)
  • Viral diseases: Any disease that is caused by a virus
