Glossary for Empty Sella Syndrome

  • Bone changes: Changes to the bones as a symptom

  • Congenital conditions: Any condition that you are born with such as birth defects or genetic diseases.
  • Empty sella syndrome - primary: A rare inherited disorder where the bony structure surrounding the pituitary gland (sella) appears to be empty as the pituitary gland is flattened due to a defect. It is instead filled with cerebrospinal fluid.
  • Endometrial stromal sarcoma: A rare type of cancer that develops from the endometrial layer of the uterus. The cancer may be slow-growing or aggressive and may metastasize.
  • Facial feature symptoms: Different facial features as symptoms
  • Headache: In medicine a headache or cephalalgia is a symptom of a number of different conditions of the head and sometimes neck. Some of the causes are benign while others are medical emergencies. It ranks among the most common pain complaints
  • Hypopituitarism: A disorder caused by reduced pituitary hormone levels. Hormones produce by the pituitary gland produces growth hormones, prolactin, thyroid stimulating hormone, antidiuretic hormone and others.
  • Hypothyroidism: Too little thyroid hormone production.
  • Pituitary conditions: Any condition that affects the pituitary
  • Short stature: A very rare syndrome characterized mainly by short stature and metabolic abnormality.
  • Vision changes: Any change in vision or sight.
