Glossary for Eosinophilic granuloma

  • Adamantinoma: Adamantinoma is a rare tumor. The tumor occurs almost exclusively in the long bones; tumors in the tibia account for more than 80% of cases. The diaphyseal region is the area most commonly affected.
  • Bone cancer: Malignancy that occurs in the bone
  • Bone symptoms: Symptoms affecting the body's bones
  • Bulging eyes: Bulging or protruding eyes
  • Exophthalmos: Protrusion of one or both eyes
  • Hepatocellular jaundice: A condition which is characterized by jaundice due to injury or damage to the hepatocellular cells of the liver
  • Hypopituitarism: A disorder caused by reduced pituitary hormone levels. Hormones produce by the pituitary gland produces growth hormones, prolactin, thyroid stimulating hormone, antidiuretic hormone and others.
  • Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis: A condition which is characterized by proliferation of Langerhans cells
  • Mastoiditis: Inflammation of a bone behind the ear
  • Neutropenia: Reduced number of granulocytes in the blood
  • Pain: A feeling of suffering, agony, distress caused by the stimulation of pain fibres in the nervous system
  • Pneumothorax: Air in the pleural spaces around the lungs.
  • Pulmonary fibrosis: A scarring condition that affects the lungs
  • Tenderness: The occurrence of the sensation of pain
  • Thrombocytopenia: Decreased platelets in the blood
  • Tooth loss: The loss of a tooth
