Erythema nodosum or erythema induratum?: Erythema nodosum is a cutaneous reaction consisting of inflammatory, tender, nodular lesions located on the anterior aspect of the lower extremities. It can occur at any age but most commonly presents in the age group of 20- 30 years of age. The onset is usually sudden. It is most likely to be misdiagnosed as a case of erythema induratum of Bazin. Definitions of Erythema nodosum:

An erythematous eruption commonly associated with drug reactions or infection and characterized by inflammatory nodules that are usually tender, multiple, and bilateral. These nodules are located predominantly on the shins with less common occurrence on the thighs and forearms. They undergo characteristic color changes ending in temporary bruise-like areas.
