Common Misdiagnoses and Erythema nodosum

Psoriasis often undiagnosed cause of skin symptoms in children: Children who suffer from the skin disorder called psoriasis can often go undiagnosed. Erythema nodosum or erythema induratum?: Erythema nodosum is a cutaneous reaction consisting of inflammatory, tender, nodular lesions located on the anterior aspect of the lower extremities. It can occur at any age but most commonly presents in the age group of 20- 30 years of age. The onset is usually sudden. It is most likely to be misdiagnosed as a case of erythema induratum of Bazin. Another condition being the cutaneous lesions of superficial thrombophlebitis. Most cases of erythema nodosum regress spontaneously in 3- 4 weeks and complications are uncommon.
