Eye Herpes: Introduction

An infection of the eye caused by the herpes simplex virus. It is also known as ocular herpes and herpes keratitis. The inflammation of the eye caused by the herpes virus can spread from the surface layers to deeper parts of the cornea and can have serious complications especially if untreated.
