Heel spur

Heel spur: Introduction

An abnormal bony growth that occurs on the heel bone. It is associated with plantar fasciitis which is an inflammation of the tendon that runs from the heel to the ball of the foot. The heel spur itself is not painful and it is the associated plantar fasciitis which is the cause of the heel pain.
