Hip fracture
Hip fracture: Introduction
A break in the hip bone - also called a broken hip. Hip fractures in the elderly are commonly caused by falls - even a minor fall can result in a break. In younger people who generally have stronger bones, a hip fracture is more commonly caused by things such as car accidents.
