Drug Causes of Lactic Acidosis



Medication causes list:

The list of possible medications or substances mentioned in sources as possibe causes of Lactic Acidosis includes:

  • Dye-contrast medical tests - can cause LA by inhibiting the kidneys.
  • Failure to discontinue Metformin prior to surgery or during surgical recovery - a known cause of accidental death in diabetics who undergo surgery
  • Metformin
