Glossary for Lysinuric protein intolerance

  • Aminoaciduria: A protein metabolism disorder where excess amino acids are present in the urine.
  • Glomerulonephritis: Kidney disease where the kidney's have problems removing waste material and excessive fluid.
  • Haemolytic anaemia:
  • Hepatocellular jaundice: A condition which is characterized by jaundice due to injury or damage to the hepatocellular cells of the liver
  • Immune deficiency: Any of various diseases that suppress the immune system.
  • Osteoporosis: Bone thinning and weakening from bone calcium depletion.
  • Pulmonary Alveolar Proteinosis: A rare chronic lung condition where accumulation of protein or phospholipids material in the lung air sacs prevent the lungs from effectively clearing any inhaled particles such as sawdust. The condition may disappear, remain stable or progress. Chronic forms are fatal in 25% of cases.
  • Thrombocytopenia: Decreased platelets in the blood
