Glossary for Mulibrey Nanism syndrome

  • Dolichocephaly: A medical term for a long narrow head shape.
  • Dwarfism: Short stature. There are several types of dwarfism: acromelic (short hand and foot bones), mesomelic (short forearm and lower leg bones) and rhizomelic (short upper arm and leg bones).
  • Fetal Growth Retardation: Impaired growth of the fetus due to any cause. Causes include maternal cyanotic heart disease, chronic maternal hypertension, placental abnormalities and multiple births.
  • Hand symptoms: Symptoms affecting the hand
  • Large feet: Large size of the feet
  • Long head:
  • Low birth weight: When the weight of a new born baby is below average
  • MULIBREY Nanism: A genetic condition
  • Pericarditis: Inflammation of the membrane surrounding the heart
  • Short stature: A very rare syndrome characterized mainly by short stature and metabolic abnormality.
