Multiple endocrine neoplasia type 3
Multiple endocrine neoplasia type 3: Introduction
Multiple endocrine neoplasia type 3 is a rare hereditary hormonal disorder characterized by enlarged endocrine glands (hormone-producing glands) or formation of tumors on endocrine glands. MEN type 3 can consist of thyroid cancer, pheochromocytoma (adrenal gland tumor) and neuromas (growths around the nerves). Spinal and digestive abnormalities are also often involved. The abbreviation MEN Type 3 or MEN Type 2-B is often used.
