Claimant: The person or organization with a legal claim against another
Claimant: The claimant is the person (or organization) who has some type of claim against another person or organization. In medical malpractice or personal injury, the claimant is usually the patient who believes they have been injured. In wrongful death law, the claimant may be a relative of the deceased. If a lawsuit is filed, the claimant becomes the plaintiff and the other accused party becomes the defendant.
