Mesothelioma cancer: Mesothelioma is a type of cancer of the membrane cells that surround the lungs. It can also affect other membrane cells in peritoneal mesothelioma or pericardial mesothelioma; see types of mesothelioma. Not all types of mesothelioma are cancerous; there is also benign mesothelioma.
Mesothelioma is an active area of litigation, usually product liability, personal injury, wrongful death or other liability, rather than medical malpractice.
