Description of Achilles tendon bursitis

Achilles tendon bursitis: Painful inflammation of the bursae which is located between the oscalcis and Achilles tendon. The condition causes walking difficulty. It may be caused by injury, wearing badly fitting shoes or rheumatoid arthritis. Also called anterior Achilles bursitis, Albert's disease, Achilles tendonitis or Schanz's syndrome 1.
