Antiphospholipid antibodies: antibodies directed against phosphorylated polysaccharide esters of fatty acids, includes lupus anticoagulant, Venereal Disease Research Laboratories, and anticardiolipin antibodies. Associated with immune-mediated illnesses, syphilis, and stroke; thought to result from a hypercoagulable disorder.
