Beta antiadrenergic agent: drug that binds to but does not activate beta-adrenergic receptors thereby blocking the actions of beta-adrenergic agonists; adrenergic beta-antagonists are used for treatment of hypertension, cardiac arrythmias, angina pectoris, glaucoma, migraine headaches, and anxiety.
