Caladium bicolor poisoning (medical condition): All parts of the Caladium plant are poisonous, particularly the sap. It contains a compound called calcium oxalate crystals which can cause abrasive injuries on sensitive eyes or mucosal tissues of the digestive tract. The plant is a common houseplant.
