Carnitine acetyltransferase: [MIM*600184] an enzyme found in mitochondria that catalyzes the reversible transfer of an acetyl group from acetyl-CoA to carnitine, forming O-acetylcarnitine and coenzyme A. Acetylcarnitine is an important fuel source in sperm.
