Chyme: Term for partially digested contents of stomach.
Chyme: Do not confuse this word with chyle. The semifluid mass of partly digested food passed from the stomach into the duodenum. SYN: chymus, pulp (3). [G. chymos, juice]

Chyme (organ): Chyme is a mixture of partially digested food, stomach acids and digestive enzymes found in the stomach. The stomach turns masticated food that has been swallowed into chime before it passes into the small intestine. Chyme is highly acidic.
