Introduction: Denture base

Description of Denture base

Denture base: (1) that part of a denture which rests on the oral mucosa and to which teeth are attached; (2) that part of a complete or partial denture that rests on the basal seat and to which teeth are attached. SYN: saddle (2).

Denture base: The part of a denture that overlies the soft tissue and supports the supplied teeth and is supported in turn by abutment teeth or the residual alveolar ridge. It is usually made of resins or metal or their combination.
