Desipramine: tricyclic dibenzazepine compound that potentiates neurotransmission; desipramine selectively blocks reuptake of norepinephrine from the neural synapse, and also appears to impair serotonin transport; this compound also possesses minor anticholingeric activity, through its affinity to muscarinic receptors.
