Endocrine system as an Organ

Endocrine system (organ): The endocrine system includes a group of glands that secrete a large variety of hormones into the bloodstream. Hormones are chemicals that control many of the body's processes, including sexual development, reproduction, growth, and metabolism. The endocrine system glands include the adrenal glands, parathyroid glands, thymus, pineal body, pancreas, ovaries, testes, pituitary and thyroid.

The endocrine system interacts with every other system in the body, including the nervous system, genitourinary system, musculoskeletal system, immune system, circulatory system, respiratory system and digestive system.

Endocrine system (organ): The endocrine system is a complex collection of hormone-producing glands that control basic body functions such as metabolism, growth and sexual development. The endocrine glands consist of: pineal; pituitary; thyroid and parathyroids; thymus; adrenals; pancreas; ovaries (female); and testes (male).
