Description of Hematomyelia

Hematomyelia: Hemorrhage into the substance of the spinal cord; it is usually a posttraumatic lesion but may also be encountered in instances of spinal cord capillary telangiectases. SYN: hematorrhachis interna, myelapoplexy, myelorrhagia. [hemato- + G. myelos, marrow]
