Hereditary whispering dysphonia (medical condition): A rare inherited disorder where an individual is able to talk normally when they’re asleep, drunk or emotional but for the most part are only able to whisper. The condition may be progressive and leaves the person unable to make a single sound. Sufferers also exhibited involuntary movements (torsion dystonia).
