Implant: (1), To graft or insert. (2), A surgically inserted or imbedded graft or device; also, a zone of cells or tissue transferred from another site through a developmental error or neoplastic process.graft, transplant, prosthesis. Implant: A substance or object that is put in the body as a prosthesis, or for treatment or diagnosis.

Implant: artificial substitutes for body parts, and materials surgically inserted or grafted into the body, tend to be used therapeutically or experimentally; implants are intended to be permanent or long term, they penetrate living tissue and therefore have a physiologic interaction with the body, and are frequently retrievable.
