Description of Intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1)

Intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1): a glycoprotein that is expressed on a variety of cells. The natural ligand for ICAM-1 is LFA-1, but it also serves as the cellular receptor for rhinoviruses in respiratory epithelium.
