Lateral meniscus: [TA] crescentic intraarticular cartilage of the knee joint attached to the lateral border of the upper articular surface of the tibia, occupying the space surrounding the contacting surfaces of the femur and tibia. SYN: meniscus lateralis [TA], external semilunar fibrocartilage.
