Moxifloxacin: A fluoroquinolone antibacterial antibiotic. Moxifloxacin inhibits the bacterial enzymes DNA gyrase (topoisomerase II) and topoisomerase IV, resulting in inhibition of DNA replication and repair and cell death in sensitive bacterial species. (NCI04)
