Multifactorial inheritance: Inheritance patterns based on multiple genes.
Multifactorial inheritance: inheritance involving many factors, of which at least one is genetic but none is of overwhelming importance, as in the causation of a disease by multiple genetic and environmental factors. Cf.: galtonian inheritance

Multifactorial inheritance: A phenotypic outcome (physical characteristic or disease predisposition) that is determined by more than one gene. Polygenic refers to those determined by many genes, while oligogenic refers to those determined by a few genes.
