NADPH-ferrihemoprotein reductase: an enzyme catalyzing the reduction of 2 ferricytochrome by NADPH to 2 ferrocytochrome; the physiologic acceptor is probably cytochrome P-450; thus, it has a role in steroid hydroxylations. SYN: cytochrome reductase.
