Description of Ofloxacin

Ofloxacin: A fluoroquinolone antibacterial antibiotic. Ofloxacin inhibits bacterial topoisomerase II (DNA gyrase) and topoisomerase IV, enzymes involved in DNA replication and repair, resulting in cell death in sensitive bacterial species. (NCI04)
