Description of Pinguecula

Pinguecula: Degenerative changes in the conjunctiva of the eye mostly seen in the elderly. It involves the development of thick yellow triangles in the inner and outer edges of the cornea.

Pinguecula: pinguicula A yellowish accumulation of connective tissue that thickens the conjunctiva; occurs in the aged. [L. pinguiculus, fattish, fr. pinguis, fat]
