Description of Plasma cell

Plasma cell: an ovoid cell with an eccentric nucleus; the cytoplasm is strongly basophilic because of the abundant RNA in its endoplasmic reticulum; plasma cells are derived from B lymphocytes and are active in the formation and secretion of antibodies. SYN: plasmacyte.
