Introduction: Prognathism

Description of Prognathism

Prognathism: A condition where one jaw is significantly larger than the other and therefore protrudes in front of it.

Prognathism: In the diphthong gn, the g is silent only at the beginning of a word. The condition of being prognathic; abnormal forward projection of one or of both jaws beyond the established normal relationship with the cranial base; the mandibular condyles are in their normal rest relationship to the temporomandibular joints. SYN: progenia.
